   International Online Exhibition
   Photographers:
      British and Iranian photographers
   September 2004/Iranqpg Site

The present online exhibition is meant to be a cross-cultural joint online exhibition
between Redeye, a British photographers network and Iranqpg an Iranian counterpart.
Several months ago we came to know Redeye an English photography site through
Johnny Mobasher, a friend who lives in England.
After a while the idea of a cross-cultural online exhibition was developed and
Redeye manager consented to it. The terms and conditions were agreed upon
and we began to receive the photos.
The photos, though very nice, not meeting the terms and conditions were
excluded and the remaining photos were uploaded and presented to the public.
We consider the present exhibition as a beginning for the future plans and we do hope
such exhibitions will do some good for making intercontinental and cross-cultural relations,
and making our planet a better place to live.

The photographers whose works have been exhibited are as follow:

     British photographers:
John Angerson, Stephen Cliffe, Simon Jones, Oliver Kresh,
Johnny Mobasher, John Perivolaris, Lynn Robinson, Karen Thwaite.

     Iranian photographers:
Arash Hanaei, Jamshid Hatam, Tooraj Khamenehzadeh, Johnny Mobasher,
Atieh Noori, Hosein Rahmani, Omid Salehi, Behzad Torkizadeh,
         Mehdi Vosoughnia, Arash Yadollahi.

My Sincere gratitude to both Redeye & IranQPG for this first joint effort which I hope to encourage many more talented photographers in both countries.

some of the photos were just fine, though the gap between two cultures and two worlds is too wide to be bridged by a joint exhibition!

Certainly a hugh contrast in culture, but I think all the more interesting for that. It shows that photography can help to cut through peoples preconceptions too.
